Scarce early view of New York City, first published in 1761.
The view is based on the Blakewell reissue or second state of William Burgis's panoramic view. William Burgis's view of New York City is among the earliest and most important views of the City. First published in 1717, it was revised periodically as the City grew, this view being based upon Blakewell's re-issue.
At the far right, the stockade shown would become Wall Street.
