Description
Extremely rare pair of maps of the Holy Land on a single sheet, which appeared in the Herborn Bible, in 1607.
The map provides a comparison of the Holy Land based upon the Old Testament (top) and New Testament (bottom).
The only reference we can find to the map is that it was included in a famous scrapbook amassed by the English Book Dealer John Bagford in the second half of the 17th Century (f. 15 (21)), which listed the map as being from a Herborn Bible, published circa 1615.
We found no reference to the map in Laor or otherwise, except as noted above. Credit to Howard Golden for helping us identify the map.
