Description

Detailed plan of Genoa, prepared by Celestino Foppiani, Doctor of Mathematics and Professor of Architecture at the University of Genoa.

The plan provides a detailed look at mid-19th Century Genoa, and includes a key identifying more than 100 important points of interest.

Foppiani, a prominent Genoese architect, seems to have prepared several plans of Genoa in this time period, as we also noted maps dated 1854 and 1855.

The lithography for the map was done my Armanino. The map was printed by Luigi Beuf Librarie, via Nuovissima 57. Beuf printed an earlier plan of Venice in 1849, at which time his address was Via Nuovissima 784.
