Description

Rare broadside, advertising the Quaker settlement of Lupton, Michigan.

The view includes two illustrations and includes the town plan, including 2 parks and factory sites. Approximately 50 home sites are already noted as sold, along with 1 factory site.

Lupton was established as a Quaker Settlement of the Friends Episcopal Church by Emmor Lupton and was located in Rose Township in Ogemaw County. The promotion was no doubt intended to appeal to the wives of the local loggers, whose husbands were likely living with tremendous excesses in the back country logging camps in the region.

The view is very rare. OCLC locates no examples of the map.
