Rare early Boston View from the Columbia Magazine, one of the earliest periodicals published in America.
The engraver, John Vallance, was a Scottish immigrant, who went on to work extensively with Benjamin and Henry Tanner, James Thackera and Matthew Carey. This is one of the earliest of his engravings.
