Description
Decorative view of the Harbor at Barcelona, at the outset of the War of Spanish Succession in 1705.
The view is based upon a painting by Paul Decker, which was published " Repraesentatio belli, ob successionem in Regno Hispanico...", in 1720 by Jerimias Wolfe in Augsburg.
Barcelona was the center of a number of military battles between 1705 and 1714. Barcelona would remain under Catalan control for another 9 years, until falling in the Siege of 1714.
