The view is a copy of an original drawing by Earl Esse in 1944, advertising Alamitos Bay. The Peninsula, Naples, parts of Belmont Shores, the PCH and Seal Beach can be seen. Born in Minnesota on Jan. 10, 1897. By 1926 Esse had settled in Los Angeles. During the 1920s he worked as an artist. He later worked for the county while living in Long Beach.
