The map is colored to deliniate the 36 Cherokee cessions of land in Virginia, West Virginia, North & South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia. Extremely detailed, showing 18th Century Cherokee Trade routes, roads, early Indian settlements and frontier forts dating the the first part of the 18th Century, various seiges and other important details, as well as towns, rivers, mountains, lakes, etc. An excellent map from the 5th Annual Report of the Bureau of Ethnology. The map has the usual fold splits, archivally repaired on the verso.
