Last year we shipped over 4,500 antique maps to more than 50 countries. Maps are shipped Monday through Friday year-round. If an order is received before 2 PM PST, we will ship the order that day. If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Rare pair of late 18th Century maps, illustrating the celestial hemispheres, published by Maurille Antoine Moithey.

The twin maps provide a fine depiction of the constellations, with each constellation individually colored by hand.

Rarity

Moithey's work is quite rare.

Planisferio Celeste Meridionale Tagliato Sull' Equatore

This is a star-chart depicting the constellations and features of the northern sky, by the Italian cartographer Antonio Zatta. Dozens of constellations are shown, and hundreds of stars have their brightness indicated. The chart is framed by elegant depictions of some of the most important observatories of Europe, including Greenwich, Copenhagen (Christian IV's version), Paris, and Cassel (Kassel). Along the roofs of the observatories, astronomers use various instruments to complete their work.
