Description
Detailed 18th-century engraved map of the American Southeast, published by Richard Phillips in London in 1799.
The map includes an interesting depiction of the Tennessee-North Carolina border, giving much more land to Tennessee than usually seen.
A small strip of land between Tennessee and Georgia is labeled "United States Territory".
The map was published in Phillips's edition of François-Alexandre-Frédéric, duc de La Rochefoucauld-Liancourt's Travels through the United States of North America, the country of the Iroquois, and Upper Canada.
