A note reflects the independence of Texas and the date of its recognition by Great Britain. Oversized Iowa extends to the Canadian Border. The map includes remarkable detail in Texas, including roads, rivers, towns, forts, mountains and other important details.

Massive early Iowa Territory shown, pre-dating the formation of Minnesota Territory. From the scarce Lithographic Edition of Johnston's Atlas.

Features an inset sketch of the Niagra River in the upper lefthand corner.
