The map shows s 434 acre parcel of land granted to Daniel Will and surveyed by Alexander McDowell on April 10, 1794, based upon a warrant granted to Daniel Will on April 10, 1793. Neighboring land owners includes Samuel Will, Richard Will, Andrew Story and David Clow.
The land was, at the time, in Alleghany County, "North & West of the Ohio & Allegheny Rivers & Conewango Creek," immeidately south of this parcel owned by Samuel Will.
The surveyor, Alexander McDowell, was active in the region for a number of years. His name comes up in correspondence with George Washington and the memoirs of John Adlum.
