Description

Decorative map of North America, issued shortly after the close of the American Revolution. Shows an unknown NW Coast of America, predating Cook's explorations, New Albion in Northern California, Martin Aguilar's apocryphal voyage in 1603 to the NW Coast, and an interesting view of North America in general. Large decorative title cartouche and compass rose. Guthries Geographical Grammar was one of the most popular English Language geographies in the later part of the 19th Century and was republished in over 30 editions, in London, Dublin and Philadelphia.
