Don Vincente Tofiño de San Miguel (1732-1795) was the primary compiler of a series of charts comprising a survey of the Spanish Coastline prepared in 1783 ordered by the Spanish Government. The work was executed by Cadets of the Spanish Naval Academies under Tofiño de San Miguel's direction . The final work was issued in a two volume atlas entitled Alas Maritimo de España, which was accompanied by a two volume text entitled Derrotero de las Costas de España (published in 1789).
