Last year we shipped over 4,500 antique maps to more than 50 countries. Maps are shipped Monday through Friday year-round. If an order is received before 2 PM PST, we will ship the order that day. If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Shipping rates are provided as part of the checkout process.

32 Single and Double Page Maps (and a few inset maps) in full original hand colouring. Brown boards with decorative engraving. Maps generally in very good condition. Includes text and maps. 84 pp. Maps include a double page coast to coast U.S. map with Minnesota reaching to the Missouri River, Northwest Territory from the Missouri to the Rockies, Washington and Oregon extending from the Rockies to the Pacific, Nebraska with a Western extension, Early Utah and New Mexico, California, and a large Indian Territory. 11 single page maps show various parts of the U.S. Texas appears alone on a single page, the Far West (from the Rockies) is shown on a single page. Generally a very good example, with little of the usual foxing, soiling, pencil doodlings, et cetera. found in school atlases. Covers soiled, spine worn, map of North America loose, otherwise very good.

Compiled around 1825, the map reveals the contours of the continent as they were understood by European cartographers of the period, a juxtaposition of extensive detail along the coasts and vast, intriguingly blank spaces in the interior.
