1839 Henry Schenk Tanner / Carey & Hart
$ 475.00
Description

Marvelous example of Tanner's map of Florida, with insets of Pennsacola, Tallahassee and the Harbor of St. Augustine. The Southern part of Florida is dominated by Dade, Monroe, Hillsborough, Hernando and a massive Mosquito County, which covers about 25% of the state. Shows many early forts, roads, rivers, lakes, the Evergades, etc. The map also shows notes depicting key battles, along with crossed swords to show the locations. Near Miami, Key Biscayne, Bear Cut, Cape Florida, Ft. Dallas and Rio Ratones are shown. Several early railroads are shown in the North. A nicely detrailed map in full old color.
