Description
Interesting bound student geographical journal, with hand drawn maps and extensive text.
The maps are dated between 1864 and 1866.
The maps are joined with handwritten geographical text, which seems to identify major regions with the regions shown on the map, as well a ports and details on size and periodically, the dates of discovery (for example, Vasco de Gama reached "Calicut" in 1498). The text for France includes historical dates for departments and additional data.
The inset map on the map of America is of particular interest, showing a number of place names on the Antarctic Peninsula in the Bellingshausen Sea.
