Last year we shipped over 4,500 antique maps to more than 50 countries. Maps are shipped Monday through Friday year-round. If an order is received before 2 PM PST, we will ship the order that day. If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Description

An interesting map showing part of the present-day Embarcadero area of downtown San Diego. Specifically, the area just south of Market Street (here labeled H. Street), between Kettner (here India Street) and Columbia Streets. The waterfront is indicated with a bit of wash color. Approximately 30 numbered structures or lots are shown just below the route of the Santa Fe Railroad, which also runs through the area shown.

The map was made as an exhibit for a land related legal case.

Such original 19th-century manuscript maps of San Diego are rare in the market.

Condition Description

Pen & ink map on drafting linen, with wash color. Mounted on card. Slight toning to linen. Overall condition is excellent.

Block 3 Lots 9 & 10 of 10-Acre Lot 8 of ¼ Sec 155, Parsons Add to National City

A neat blueprint plat of part of the Parsons Addition to National City, prepared in January 1909 by surveyor Lew. B. Harris. Drawn at a scale of one inch to thirty feet, the sheet sets out Block 3’s Lots 6 through 10 along the north side of C Avenue and the adjoining Lots 1 through 5 on the south side of D Avenue, with Seventh Street framing the west edge. Dimensions are noted on every frontage and depth (fifty-foot widths and one-hundred-seventeen-foot depths predominate) while dashed lines and the note a hedge and fence. In the upper right, a certification by the Clerk of San Diego County, dated 28 January 1914, attests that this is a true copy of the exhibit filed in a Superior Court case.
