One cannot overlook the prominent depiction of the Great Wall of China along Shaanxi's northern edge. This age-old barrier is depicted with meticulous care, reflecting its monumental scale and historical significance. It's a powerful reminder of China's deep-rooted history, juxtaposed against the more administrative boundaries of the prefectures.
Two inset maps show Xi'An and a second city, likely Yan'An. The map appears to date from the 1970s given the style of printing. This is consistent with the stark design shown.
