Strip maps illustrate routes down the Pacific Coast of Oregon and Washington and through California. The route mostly follows the former Pacific Highway, in 1923 the longest continuous stretch of paved road in the world. The Columbia River Highway provides the route from Portland to The Dalles. Also included are maps of San Francisco's Golden Gate Park and Presidio.
Notes below the maps inform the reader of the quality of the road and amenities in the area. Many pages have information about Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, such as the list "Origin of losses Paid by Fireman's Fund," opposite page 65, with some pictured in photographs on succeeding pages, and including reasons, "Burned on street— driver used lamp to look for gasoline leak," "Passerby throwing match near car while standing on street," and "Runaway horse collided with car."
