Laurenberg's Atlas of Ancient Greece
Laurenberg, a skilled cartographer, was also a noted philologist, mathematician, classicist, and poet. He made maps for the atlases issued by the Amsterdam-based Hondius and Blaeu firms. The present work on ancient Greece assigns a map for each region described. The present atlas of ancient Greece was edited and published posthumously by Samuel Pufendorf, just a short time after Laurenberg's death.

Condition Description
Oblong octavo. Contemporary polished calf, rebacked with new leather spine. [8], 62, [2] pages plus 31 engraved maps. Woodcut title vignette. 8 smaller engraved illustrations of allegorical, architectural and numismatic subjects, in the text. Some woodcut initials and woodcut head- and tailpieces. Complete. Binding edges worn. Title leaf a bit dust soiled. Early ink inscription dated 1777 on verso of front flyleaf. Else internally very clean and nice, especially the maps.
