Description

Separately-issued antique real estate promotional map of Texas, produced by Poole Brothers of Chicago on behalf of Theo. F. Koch & Co.

The map shows the railway lines stretching across Texas that could bring an enterprising farmer to his new homestead. The state is divided into numerous "Belts" that describe the type of farming best suited for the area. The map highlights ranching opportunities, and farming areas for corn, cotton, citrus fruits, alfalfa, Bermuda onions, cattle, sheep, etc. There is nothing shown in the Panhandle.

There is an inset in the upper left corner that shows the external railways that could bring an immigrant to Texas.

We have previously had another version of the map.
