Description

Detailed map of Placer County and the northwestern part of Lake Tahoe, published by the State Mining Bureau.

Lake Tahoe is shown from Crystal Bay on the Nevada border to the Tahoma area. The map shows mining claims throughout the county, as well as hydrography and the town and range system. Towns are shown, including Auburn, Newcastle, Roseville, Antelope, and Lincoln. Adjacent counties, including Sacramento, El Dorado, Nevada, Sutter, and Yuba are named.

This map was issued by the State Mining Bureau of California in c. 1902. Placer County is, of course, one of the historic centers of mining for California where gold was discovered in 1848.
