Description

Printed indenture form on laid paper, completed in manuscript, dated 15 August 1772, conveying 250 acres in Colleton County from William and Ann Holmes to Thomas Woodin, Weigher and Gauger in His Majesty’s Customs at Charleston. Signed by both parties, with two pendant red wax seals, witnessed by Thomas Smyth and John Sanum, and acknowledged before Justice Fenwicke Bull. Entered in the Public Register Office on 21 November 1772.

Condition Description
Partly printed form completed in contemporary manuscript. Letterpress on 18th-century laid paper. Large losses and repaired tears through the sheet. Staining. But altogether
