Pictorial Map of West Point by A Distinguished Alumnus and Professor

Rare black and white example of this rare pictorial map of West Point, drawn by L.E. Schick in 1928.

L.E. Schick is almost certain Brigadier General Lawrence Schick (1897-1967), West Point Class of 1920 and began his career as a Cavalry Officer.

After World War II, Schick was a professor of Military Topography and Graphics at West Point from 1946 to 1965.  HIs drawing of Washington Hall in 1960 was produced by the West Point Fund Committee as a keepsake.

Schick participated in the negotiations of the surrender of the Japanese in 1945.

Rarity

The map is rare. We note a copy in the Rumsey collection and in the General William C. Westmoreland Papers at the University of South Carolina.
