Description

Nice example of the classical map of Moses' journey from Egypt to Canaan.

Includes a year by year route of the trip on the map and marvelous vignette at the bottom, showing Moses receiving the 10 commandments on Mt. Ararat. Richly detailed throughout the Holy Land.  Along the bottom are portraits of Moses and Aaron, flanking a plan of the 12 tribes around the Tabernacle, with other symbols from the Exodus.

This map, with various changes to the decorative embellishments, appeared in a number of Dutch Bibles over a 100 year period beginning in the second half of the 17th Century.
