Description

Large map of St. Petersburg, Florida, published by Van Sciver and Son Real Estate and Insurance (established 1928).

The primary map shows the boomtown of St. Petersburg, which had grown from a population of 273 in 1890 and 60,812 at the start of WWII to an "estimated 125,000" by 1952.

The verso of the map includes smaller maps, including an historical sketch of Florida and Pinellas County, population density map for the area around St. Petersburg, map of Pinellas County and an enlarged business district map.

Van Sciver and Son were actively promoting single family residential homes in the area in the 1950s.
