Description

Scarce separately published chart of the Coast of Georgia, from Savannah to Sapelo Island.

The chart bears the insignia of the United States Coast Survey, but also, at the bottom left, the markings of the U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survery.

This is an exceptionally detailed navigational chart, the most detailed US Governement chart of the Georgia Coastlin published to date.  The list of authorities shows a number of different surveys conducted beween 1850 and 1878 to create the chart.

The interior detail is also quite impressive, showing rivers, tide lands, navigational buoys in the rivers, roads, and a finely detailed plan for Savannah.
