Fine large image of St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, engraved by Georg Daniel Heumann and drawn by Salomon Kleiner.

Salomon Kleiner

In 1721, around the same time that Fischer von Erlach produced his Anfang Einiger Vorstellungen der vornehmsten Gebäude so wohl innerhalb der Stadt als in denen Vorstädten von Wien, the Augsburg-trained draftsman and engraver Salomon Kleiner (1700–61) made a series of views of Vienna. Although their quality varies depending on the engraver, these engravings rank among the best view of the eighteenth century.

In 1722, Kleiner was retained by the Schönborn family to create a series of engraves in their estates in Austria and Franconia.

In 1729, Kleiner drew the Upper Belvedere, located in the outskirts of Vienna, for Prince Eugene of Savoy (1663–1736). T
