Description

One of the earliest obtainable maps of South Carolina to appear in an American Atlas. The state is divided into 9 districts. The Ninty-Six and Cheraw districts are outlined, but not named. Some counties are shown. The Tugaloo River is spelled Tugelo. Nice example of the second edition of the map, with no changes from the first edition in the cartographic details. Backed with linen. Narrow upper and lower margins, as issued. Fine dark impression.
