Description

Unusual lithographic map of the stars, prepared by "Lieutenant" Hedde d'Entremont for the Société d'éditions géographiques, maritimes et coloniales in Paris in 1950.

The work is a modern description of 12 constellations, with an explantion of their orientation, rotation and movement through the sky, intended to assist Navigators.

Includes the imprint "Carte dressee par le lieutenant de vaisseau Hedde d'Entremont," and "Société d'éditions géographiques, maritimes et coloniales, 17 rue Jacob, Paris VI."

Hedde d'Entremont is most likely Bertrand Hedde d'Entremont (1917-1974).  Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Bertrand entered the French Navy in 1935, where he seems to have remained for most of his life.
