An unusually-annotated map showing purported troop action in the vicinity of Dresden in June of 1943, bearing a Hungarian owner's signature.
The map shows the actions of the 110th Infantry Regiment in great detail, although the unit was supposed to be in Crimea at the time. The positions of the 111th Infantry Regiment and the 20th Infantry Division are also shown. Both of these units were also meant to be fighting on the Eastern Front, and all would be destroyed in 1944. Most importantly, the region shown did not come under any threat until 1945. Dates on the map indicate 1.6.43 at 10:00 as one of the timestamps on the map.
The anachronous troop movements and engagements seem to suggest that the annotations shown are most likely a tactical exercise, potentially accompanied by war games. The former possibility appears more likely as a regiment deeply engaged in fierce combat would seem to not need to engage in war games.
