Description

Unusual wall map presentation of Eleazer Huntington's map of the ancient world as it was during biblical times.

The map was produced to educate younger audiences regarding the Old and New Testaments. As such, it shows important biblical settlements as well as important voyages, such as that of the Israelites out of Egypt and the track of St. Paul as he voyaged from Jerusalem to Rome.

Other regions are also shown on the map in detail. The map stretches from Gaul to Sarma and Scythia, and south to North Africa.

This map was published in Hartford, Connecticut, in 1831. Huntington more commonly issued the map in a pocket map format.
