Attractive 18th-century view of London centered on London Bridge and the Thames, taken from Southwark.
The view is highly detailed, showing the city before the Great Fire in 1666. The Tower is prominently visible as are many other major landmarks as well as the countryside surrounding the city.
The view was engraved by R. Benning and published by John Boydell in London in 1756. This sheet could be joined with a second sheet also published by Boydell and showing the western portion of the city.
