Description

Interesting Vienna-published, German-language map of the world issued during the height of World War II, showing a particular focus on the so-called Asiatic-American Space, no doubt spurred on by the opening of the Pacific Theater of the war, or the apprehension thereof.

In addition to showing some of the World War II political boundaries ("Gen. Gouv." is labeled in Poland), the map places a particular emphasis on oceanliner routes, which criss-cross the image.

The map includes insets of the Suez Canal and Nile Delta, and the Panama Canal.
