Wonderful vintage pictorial map of Kenya, focusing on the nation's natural beauty and tourist landmarks.
The map was first prepared for the Survey of Kenya in 1968, five years after independence, and was issued for several years afterward. This example was from a 1972 print run, as indicated in the lower-left.
The map delineates the provinces of Kenya, game reserves, and National Parks. Many illustrations of animals are scattered around the map to suggest where they can be seen. The information recorded is quite diverse, from fishing camps to hospitals and airports.
In the lower right, an inset map indicates Kenya's location in Africa. The map also includes a distance table.
On the back is a colorful listing of places of interest and descriptions thereof, as well as two city plans, of Nairobi and Mombasa.
