Description

Scarce early-19th-century map of North America published in London in 1816.

The map shows a nice treatment of the continent's interior with a non-Lewis and Clark-derived mapping of the Missouri River watershed.

Strangely, the United States is still shown only to extend to the Mississippi River, a configuration that had been surpassed more than a decade earlier with the Louisiana Purchase.
