Fine example of Francois Halma's beautiful rendition of the streets of ancient Rome, published during a time of increased appreciation of classical civilization.

The map shows fine, wide streets lined with statues and beautiful, tall buildings. Mosaics and palaces abound. Temples are placed at regular intervals.

This view was published in Amsterdam near the end of the 17th century.
