Description

Lithographed by G.T. Brown & Co, One of America's Earliest Black Lithographers.

Fine early lithograph showing the San Felix Station, a notable stop on the Pescadero - Half Moon Bay overland route in the late 1800s.

The view shows the valley around the San Felix Station and names the station's proprietor as "M. Carey." This bucolic area was notably heavily disrupted by the early 1880s when the Spring Valley Water Company started to build reservoirs throughout the region.

This work originally appeared in Moore & De Pue's Illustrated History of San Mateo County.
