Description

Fine, original English-language antique map of the region of Brandenburg, in Germany, showing the region's layout in detail. This map was published by William Berry in London in the late 17th century.

The map shows cities, towns, rivers, forests, mountains, and more. It includes a fabulously decorative English-style cartouche in the lower left, with the royal coat of arms. The cartography was based on the work of the French mapmaker Nicholas Sanson.

This map was made by William Berry, one of the few 17th-century English cartographers. His maps are rare due to their separately-issued nature, where they were usually included in custom-made composite atlases.
