Description

The contents of the atlas were quite impressive, including a number of the most important American maps of the period, as well as a number of celestial maps.

The title page, "Atlas ou Recueil de Cartes pour La Geographie Moderne . . . ", is not a standard name.  Given the contents, it was likely assembled sometime between the mid 1740s and mid-1750s, as it references three Bellin maps that did not appear until 1744, but are more common in the 1750s.
