A Fine Early Street View Cabinet Photograph of Colorado Springs
The image shows Tejon Street, and looks south toward Cheyenne Mountain, which is prominently in the background. Several business signs are clearly visible: H. T. Taylor & Bros., Drug Store; Basey's Ranche; a bank; a boot and shoe store; and a real estate office.
Though the name of the photographer is unidentified, similar views of Tejon Street in Colorado Springs from the late 19th century have been attributed to Byron H. Gurnsey (1833-1880).
Condition Description
Original albumen photograph on card mount, cabinet card format. Two pinholes to upper corners on mount. Moderate wear to mount edges. Overall quite clean and nice.
