Description

Original vintage propaganda poster showing the progress of the Second World War in June 1943.

The poster includes two maps, one showing the Eastern Front as it stretched from Leningrad (St. Petersburg) to the Sea of Azov. Railroad lines and more are shown. To the right is a world map centered on Eurasia, showing six news points from the week, including the regime change in Argentina, the upcoming battle in Kharkiv, and Japanese advancements on the Russell Islands.

The verso of the map shows the steps in the training of a Navy sailor, termed a "Bluejacket."

The Newsmap propaganda series was published as a weekly update for personnel on the state of the war, always with a positive, pro-Ally spin.
