Description

Fine composite map of the West, which appeared in the final report of the Wheeler Survey.

The map provides in fine detail a composite report showing the areas surveyed under the direction of George Wheeler in the south, Clarence King in the north and the swaths of land given to the Northern Pacific, Southern Pacific and Union Pacific.

In addition, the routes of many early explorers appear, along with forts, Indian Tribal lands and reservations, and a host of other important details.
