Description

"The most beautiful and correct depiction of the city." (Müller / Druglin)

A fine example of this exceptional 4 sheet view of Nuremberg, engraved and published in Nuremberg in 1667.

The view includes two smaller views from the east and west, each with numbered keys identifying important places, and is topped with a striking Baroque array of about 30 different local and regional coats of arms, along with the motto of the city.

The view was published with 4 sheets of text, which are not present here and are rarely found with the view.

Rarity

The view is very rare on the market.
