Description

Nazi-era folding map of Asia, showing political boundaries around the continent and in the Pacific as of early 1942.

The map lists Japanese possessions in the South Pacific and includes two insets of Hawaii. A further inset in the lower-left corner shows oceanic transit distances.

Interestingly, the map still shows Kaiser-Wilhelmsland as an Australian Mandate (per a League of Nations decision in 1920) even though the territory had been captured by Japan in 1941. This is one of several odd decisions to fail to acknowledge Japanese-conquered territories.
