Pre-federation map of northern Western Australia from Sydney publisher John Sands' The New Atlas of Australia, the first large-scale atlas of the continent produced there. Towns, mountains, and rivers are shown in the region extending from Cape Bossut southwest to Mount Augustus, Cape Locker, and the Dampier Archipelago. The map provides further annotations of explorer's routes and remarks on topography and geology.
