The Winter Olympics Come To Alpe d'Huez

Striking image of the famed town of L'Alpe D'Huez, the famed French Ski Resort in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, promoting the 1968 Winter Olympics Grenoble.

Alpe d'Huez hosted the bobsleigh events at the 1968 Winter Olympics.

The town is also known as one of the most famous stages in the Tour de France, having first been a stage in 1952 and a regular stage since 1976.  It was the scene of the famous Bernard Hinault - Greg LeMond finish in 1986, one of the most iconic photographs in the history of the Tour.
