Description

Rare early map of the Holy Land, published by Guillaume Postel in Paris.

Postel (1510-81) was a French astronomer and mapmaker. His map of the Holy Land appears to have been first published in 1553. There were a number of derivatives.

The region is depicted pictorially in relief with the settlements clearly displayed
