Description

Very scarce plan of the Tabernacle and its altar, home to the Ark of the Covenant during the Exodus period of Jewish history.

The upper engraving shows a floor plan of the tabernacle, with both Hebrew and Latin nomenclature. The lower plan shows a slightly more angled view of the tabernacle, displaying its supports and structural features.

This plan originally appeared in Montanus's Polyglot Bible. The work was one of the foremost bible editions of the 16th century and featured compilations from some of the earliest sources from the leading northern European Humanist scholars of the time.
